ABOUT US...
Winners of the 2020 Australian Celtic Music Award for ‘New Celtic Talent of the year’.

Limerick bring together 4 talented musicians who have a ‘Reel’ passion for hi-energy music broadly representing the Celtic rock genre, including originals, classics and traditional tunes. Limerick's slogan of ‘Modern Celtic Band’ reflects the incorporation of crowd pleasers into their shows to ensure that everybody young, old, and in-between are either toe tapping, beer stomping, or up singing and dancing whilst being mesmerised by their roaming ‘Pied Piper like’ Fiddle player Melinda Coles who recently represented Australia at the 2019 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo held in Sydney and received special invitation to perform at the next Tattoo to be held in Edinburgh Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.

Limerick's live performances have been at some of the best venues including weddings and private functions and have been a featured band at venues such as Finn McCools (one of QLD’s largest Irish pubs and multi award winner for best entertainment), Irish Club Hotel Toowoomba, Scots in the Bush Festival, International Tartan Day Festival, The Bunker in Eumundi, Twin Towns Club Tweed Heads, The Colmslie Big Band Craic Festival, Treasury Casino and Paddyfest, a St Pats festival held annually at Eagle Farm Raceway.

Limerick have established themselves as one of the most popular Celtic bands in Australia.

BAND MEMBERS
TIM CODY - Guitar and Vocals
Growing up in a large musically talented family, music was a central part of Tim’s upbringing, performing in a variety of family and community events honing his craft of songwriting and musicianship.
Later in life, Tim started a duo where he was gigging the pub scene in and around Brisbane for a number of years before eventually coming together to form the band Limerick. This allowed Tim to fulfill his true passion for Celtic music and embrace his Celtic roots. As a second generation Irishman, Tim remembers how he enjoyed listening to the old Irish ballads his father would regularly play on vinyl and this has influenced and shaped Tim into the artist he is today.

In addition to playing guitar, leading vocals, and writing songs for Limerick, Tim has taken on the role of band manager and successfully launched Limerick into the mainstream as Limerick grows in popularity. Tim’s passion and drive has led Limerick to be nominated in the 2020 Australian Celtic Music Awards for "Best New Talent", "Group of the Year" and "Song of the Year" categories.
Tim brings energy and joy to the band with his inspired performances and character adding to the unique sound that is Limerick.

MELINDA COLES  - Fiddle and Accordion
Well known and highly regarded in the Australian Celtic and Folk music scenes, Melinda Coles brings an energy to her performance that is as captivating as it is entertaining.
A violin prodigy at seven, Melinda has spent almost her entire life studying, performing and teaching a wide range of musical instruments and style. Her specialty is the violin but she now plays 13 instruments – including her latest instrument the Piano Accordion.

With her busy career as a Suzuki Strings Teacher, her involvement in local community groups and charities, and her performances with busy Irish and Bluegrass bands, Melinda lives a life surrounded by music. Melinda’s latest achievement has been representing Australia at the 2019 Edinburgh Tattoo held in Sydney, and with special invitation has been invited back to the 2020 Tattoo held in Edinburgh itself.

No Limerick gig would be the same without Melinda’s energy and enthusiasm, The roaming “Pied Piper like” Fiddler. As lead instrument, Melinda takes Limericks performances to the next level on a journey that lifts ones spirit.
